ADHD Assessments
Private ADHD Assessments
We provide comprehensive ADHD assessments to help parents understand their child's behaviour and learning patterns. Our assessments focus on identifying the core characteristics of ADHD and providing valuable insights to support a child's development.
What is an ADHD?
Having ADHD means that things like staying focused, sitting still or thinking before acting are much bigger challenges than they are for most people. These traits usually show up in childhood and can look different for everyone - some people struggle with daydreaming, while others are constantly on the move.
At school these challenges can feel like a struggle. It is hard to do well in tests or stay in lessons when your brain is constantly pulling you in ten different directions. Because everyone's brain works differently, it can sometimes be tricky to tell the difference between typical 'high energy' and ADHD without professional insight.

Our Assessment Process: A Step-by-Step Guide
Initial Consultation
We begin with a detailed conversation with you, the parents, to understand your concerns and your child's developmental history. This helps us gather information about your child's behaviour, academic performance, and social interactions. We will discuss your child's strengths and difficulties and answer any questions you may have.
Questionnaires
We will provide you and your child's teachers with standardised questionnaires (Connors, Brown) to assess their behaviour in different settings. These questionnaires help us quantify and compare your child's behaviour to established norms. Common scales include those that measure inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

Diagnosis and Medication
Our assessments are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of your child's behaviour and potential ADHD characteristics. We focus on providing diagnostic clarity and recommendations for behavioural and educational interventions.
If a diagnosis of ADHD is made and medication is considered appropriate, a referral to a qualified psychiatrist or paediatrician will be necessary.
